Sample Aruba Holiday Itinerary

Prior to departure, you will receive a bespoke itinerary created by a Rich Vein Travel expert filled with advice and recommendations. Read an extract of one of our itineraries for Aruba below. We recommend hiring a 4×4 for this particular itinerary.

Day 1

As you would expect in one of the world’s best holiday destinations, rainy days are a rarity on the island of Aruba. As you step off the plane at Queen Beatrix International you’ll immediately be greeted by the beaming sun, present all year round, as you make your way to the Bucuti & Tara Adults Only Resort. Nestled on Eagle Beach, this intimate oceanfront resort lies in the midst of sky high palm trees, dazzling white sand and crystal waters. Tranquility, privacy and exceptional service are just three of the reasons why we highly recommend this incredible resort.

Frank, the bellman has extraordinary enthusiasm and charm whilst the attentive staff at the front desk will ensure that check-in is an (island) breeze. The Penthouse, Suites and Deluxe room all come with an ocean view, so leave your suitcases at the door and step onto your spacious balcony or patio deck. Explore the room, and take note of the Aruba Aloe toiletries in the bathroom. Did you know that Aruba Aloe is the oldest Aloe Company in the world? Founded in 1890, Aloe’s have been a prominent part of Aruba’s culture ever since. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on Eagle Beach making full use of the Bucuti’s frontage. Alternate your time between the beach front and the sundeck furnished with lounges, umbrella tables and an infinity pool. After an afternoon stretched out in the heat, retire to your room to freshen up before dinner. Tonight you will dine at the Elements Restaurant on site in a private beach palapa. As the sky transitions from pastel pinks to a starry night waiters will serve you a special 6-course meal. This romantic occasion is the perfect way to end your first day in Aruba.

Day 2

Start your day with a complimentary breakfast at the Bucuti and then head to the Butterfly Farm.  We recommend visiting the farm in the morning because this is when butterflies are most active. Step into a tropical garden teeming with butterflies from around the globe and prepare to meet some of the world’s most colourful and interesting beauties. Tour guides will entertain you with commentary on the life cycle of a butterfly and you may even witness new butterflies emerging from their chrysalis. This is will be one of many picture perfect moments on your trip of a lifetime.

Stop by Garden Fresh Café for lunch. Serving only fresh and organic ingredients you can create your own lunch bowl, salad or smoothie from an extensive list of menu options. Retire to your room at the Bucuti for a leisurely snooze, and then in the late afternoon make your way to downtown Oranjuestad for spot of shopping and dinner. With a mix of local brands and high end brands such as Louis Vuitton, Rolex and Cartier the shopping can fulfill all of your luxury needs. For dinner we recommend Barefoot Restaurant, situated on the beach expect refined dishes such as blackened Mahi Mahi and vanilla skewered scallops.

Day 3

Spend the day utilising all of the services and packages that the Bucuti and Tara provides. Start with a Qi Gong class at 7:30am on the beach. Invest in a bespoke wellness programme led by certified wellness specialist Isabel Struve Rasmijn. The indulge in a few hours at the Purun spa which offers an array of treatments with natural products to achieve absolute wellness, and balance mind, body and spirit. From 16:00 you can look forward to Happy Hour where expert bartenders will mix you refreshing drinks at the open-air bar.

In the evening we recommend a luxury catamaran cruise to watch the sunset. There a few places in the world with a more picturesque sunset than Aruba. During this 2-hour evening excursion, enjoy tropical cocktails as the sun dips below the horizon and the stars appear.

Day 4

If you have hired a 4×4, drive to Arikok National Park or make your way to the park with a guided tour. There are several dirt roads in Aruba that require a 4×4 to access. Places like the natural pool Aruba are fairly inaccessible without such a robust vehicle. However the pools are undoubtedly worth the effort and swimming in them is a memory to treasure. Aside from the natural pools, you can also hike to see Dos Playas (a wild bay with turquoise water) and hike to two incredible caves (Quadirikiri and Fontein). After a morning of exploring, head to Red Fish for lunch and be sure to ask for the Catch of the Day. In the afternoon take a stroll along the beaches of Aruba. With most of the beaches next to each other this is quite easy. Aside from Eagle Beach, Manchebo beach is a standout, as is Drulf. With a car it’s also possible to drive to the remote and secluded Baby Beach at the most Western point of the island for an afternoon frolicking in the sea followed by a walk through San Nicolas for authentic island charm devoid of glitz and glamour. However, there is still plenty to do without going so far. One of the most unique elements of Aruba is Flamingo beach. As you’re lounging on the beach elegant exotic flamingos will walk past your deck chair, or stand beside you in the water.

In the evening visit the romantic Passions on the Beach. Dine and relax with your bare feet in soft white sand as you enjoy the calming sounds of the ocean caressing the shore. As the sun sets, a soft light will emanate from the tiki torches creating a warm glow above. There’s a reason that this restaurant is deemed to be the most romantic dinner experience on the island. With a vast array of menu options the restaurant caters to a variety of needs and requirements.
