Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas
For a luxury family holiday that’s luxurious in every sense, the Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas cannot be beaten. The perfect way to describe the resort is “casual luxury”. Casual, because the friendly welcoming environment means that you and your family will be able to truly enjoy themselves without the stuffiness of your average chain hotel. Luxury, because this resort, which only opened in April 2018 has the amenities, facilities, staff, and finishing touches to ensure that this luxury resort is a step above the rest. A luxury stay at the 5* Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas will be memorable for all the right reasons. After one stay, you’ll undoubtedly want to return the following year, in fact, you may never want to leave.
Nestled on a stunning 9 km stretch of white sandy beach, you can relax on the sun loungers exclusively reserved for guests of the resort, swim in the aquamarine waters, and enjoy blissful uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf. This is something very few hotels and resorts in the UAE can offer. Further still, the beach is also home to the indigenous endangered Hawksbill sea turtles, which is highlighted throughout the resort. Hawksbill turtles nest on Saadiyat Island beach every year, with the hatching season typically between March and June. Should you go further out to sea, you may even catch a glimpse of dolphins which are quite commonly found just off the shores of the resort.
In addition to the spectacular beach, in the outdoor area of the resort, you will find a large child-friendly swimming pool, lined with cabanas and sun umbrellas, meaning adults can relax by the pool, as the kids splash around, and have lots of fun! Located near the outdoor pool is Aladdin’s Cave, the resort’s kids club. This incredible kid’s club offers a lazy river, splash pool, cinema zone, games consoles, water slide and much more that will keep the younger guests active and engaged. Whilst the children play games for hours, feel free to enjoy the other leisure facilities at the hotel. Work up a sweat at Bodylines Fitness Club; let your cares drift away at Zen the spa at Rotana; or make the most of the two tennis courts.
At Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas you will find a range of accommodation options suitable for couples, friends, families and groups. All 327 rooms and suites and 13 beach villas promise guests modern and elegant interiors combined with luxury facilities and services. Spacious, bright and featuring contemporary décor, every room has been designed to reflect the warmth of a beachfront home. Spectacular views of Saadiyat Beach, the beautiful resort and the Arabian Gulf complete the picture.
Enjoy space, comfort and style in a uniquely-designed 40 sqm Classic Room with beach house-inspired décor that encapsulates the spirit of Saadiyat Island. With king or twin bed options, an open-plan bathroom with a tub or walk-in shower and floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors that lead to a balcony, it is a fantastic choice for couples. The Family Interconnecting Room, comprised of two interconnecting classic rooms is ideal for families with slightly older children, or teenagers looking for a bit of privacy without being too far away. However, there are alternative options too in the resort, including, the generously-sized 130 sqm Two-Bedroom Suite – a perfect beachside retreat for families and friends. These suites are comprised of one king bed, two double beds, and a separate living area with uninterrupted views of the stunning Arabian Gulf waters.
For an added touch of luxury, we highly recommend the Club Rotana rooms and suites, which are designed to meet the needs and desires of the most discerning luxury travellers. Club Rotana guests receive a range of additional privileges including access to the Club Rotana lounge that boasts a range of added extras including complimentary breakfast in the morning, complimentary evening cocktails and canapes available in the evening, and English and Arabic newspapers.
For more privacy, and a private pool, the Saadiyat Rotana villas will be ideal for your family. There are two types of villas available. The One-Bedroom Beach Villa is complete with a large private plunge pool and a fully-furnished terrace directly facing the sea. The Two Bedroom Beach Villa is equally impressive. Boasting a private plunge pool, and a spacious terrace facing the Arabian Gulf, like the One-Bedroom Villas, the sheer size of this villa makes it particularly unique. At 150 sqm this exclusive villa will feel incredibly spacious and light. It is the ultimate sanctuary where you can get away from the world.
The dining options at the Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas are a gastronomic delight. There are four restaurants to choose from at the resort. Si Ristorante Italiano & Bar is the first Italian restaurant on the island, serving authentic dishes led by a Sicilian Head Chef. Hamilton’s Gastropub brings the best of British and American classics to your table and guarantees a lively atmosphere. Happy Hour, Ladies Night, and live music make this gastropub an epicentre for entertainment at the resort. If you’re a sports fan, you’ll also be able to watch big Premier League games here.
Surf, turf and grilled delicacies entice you to Turtle Bay Bar & Grill, a stunning two-storey venue with al fresco dining options to suit all occasions. At lunch, you can dine in your swimwear, taking advantage of the shaded outdoor seating area. But as the sun sets, switch to your smart casual attire and prepare to sip on lavish drinks on the magnificent rooftop terrace. Last but certainly not least is Sim Sim, an elegant restaurant with an expansive international buffet. Sim Sim is also the restaurant where breakfast is served each day.
At the Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas there are also two outdoor bars, Nasma, and the Pool Bar, are a perfect choice for cocktails, beers, and drinks beside the beach. Both bars can be used throughout the day. Whilst the spacious Sama Lobby Lounge is the ideal place to meet friends or business colleagues for tea, coffee or perhaps a dessert.

Most flights from London with British Airways arrive in Abu Dhabi in the evening. So on your first day in Abu Dhabi, enjoy a quick check-in at the Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas and unpack. Freshen up in your room, and flick through the channels to find the movies that will keep your children entertained for a short while. Take a look at the list of options for dinner at the resort, and try to decide on a restaurant that everyone unanimously agrees on! From Hamilton’s to Si to Turtle Bay to Sim Sim, you’ll be spoilt for choice. For your first night, we recommend Hamilton’s Gastropub. Laidback, casual, and comfortable, feel at ease as you dine on sumptuous burgers, oozy gooey mac & cheese, and the signature smokehouse chicken.
After dinner, enjoy an evening stroll around the resort, and admire the way the pool glistens like diamonds on a night time. If you’re travelling with children retire to your room ahead of your early start on day 2. However, if you’re travelling in a couple, or with friends, enjoy a nightcap at Nasma’s beach bar. From spirits to cocktails, to beers, there’s something for everyone.
Wake up bright and early for a buffet-style breakfast at Sim Sim. After breakfast head to the private beach. As you approach the sand you’ll see a small hut full of beach towels, ice boxes to keep your water cool all day, bats, spades, and volleyballs. This means that adults can relax on the sun loungers, whilst the children play on the beach in the shade. However if your children would rather play inside for a few hours, Aladdin’s Cave is a fantastic alternative. Aladdin’s Cave is the kids club at Saadiyat Rotana Resort and Villas. It’s open from morning until night and is free of charge for hotel guests.
Feeling peckish? Enjoy light bites and snacks at Nasma beachfront bar. From ceviche to quesadillas these Mexican delights will keep you coming back day after day. In the late afternoon, as the temperature begins to cool, enjoy some family fun on the tennis courts, or enjoy a few games of mini golf. Allow your competitive side to come out, as you battle to be victorious.
On day 2 enjoy a delicious Italian dinner at Si – a reservation is recommended. Children are welcome at this restaurant, and like at Hamilton’s there’s the option to dine inside, or al fresco to fully enjoy the warm weather.
After a day of pure and utter relaxation, we highly recommend a day on Yas Island. Yas Island is the place to be if you’re seeking family fun in Abu Dhabi. Yas Island is only a ten-minute drive away from the Saadiyat Rotana Resort, so you’ll be there in no time. One of the most popular attractions on Yas Island is Yas Waterworld. Yas Waterworld spans an area of around 15 football pitches, with 43 rides, slides & attractions – five of which are one-of-a-kind. Visitors to this waterpark will be able to try the 238-metre long six-person tornado water slide. Adrenaline seekers may also enjoy Aqualoop, a high-octane, thrill-seekers’ ride and the only looping waterslide in the Middle East. At Yas Waterworld you will also find a lazy river, giant outdoor lagoon area, and a range of eateries, shops and drinks bars. Kids can safely experience the water park on their own if they’re old enough, while you relax knowing that everything you need – from food to changing rooms – will be just a few steps away.
For fast and furious fun for all ages, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi can’t be missed. This is the world’s first Ferrari-branded theme park. The park has over 20 exhilarating and educational rides and attractions. For younger children, the newest theme park on the island – Warner Bros World – may be ideal. As one of the world’s biggest, fully air-conditioned indoor theme parks, this theme park is perfect all year round, even during the height of summer when the temperatures rise to highs of 45 °C. Expect a range of rides to suit all ages. Young children will also be able to meet their popular Warner Bros. heroes like Bugs Bunny, Superman and Daffy Duck! It will be the highlight of their trip.
Purchase a 1 Day 2 Parks ticket and get access to Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi and either Ferrari World Abu Dhabi or Warner Bros World in one day. Or choose a 2 Day Any 2 Parks Ticket which is valid for 13 days from the date of first use. This will allow you and to visit one park at the start of your holiday, and another park towards the end, for example.
