Sample Australia Holiday Itinerary

Prior to departure, you will receive a bespoke itinerary created by a Rich Vein Travel expert filled with advice and recommendations. Read an extract of one of our itineraries for Australia below.

Day 1

Fly from London to Sydney with a short stopover in Abu Dhabi. After quite literally spending all day travelling, there is no better place to call home than The Langham, Sydney. Dramatic Harbour views. Quaint cobbled streets. Historic brick buildings. Discover a secluded haven in the heart of Sydney’s Rocks district .This stylish, alluring hotel seamlessly combines bespoke handcrafted furnishings, luxurious materials, and art by renowned Australian artists to create an elegant colonial-style residential atmosphere. Guest rooms feature tufted headboards, high ceilings, and marble baths. Each room is complete with views of the Sydney cityscape or the bustling Darling Harbour. For absolute indulgence, the option of a private terrace is available. Spend the next few hours relaxing at the Langham, then head to Fish at The Rocks located a few minutes away for dinner. As one of Sydney’s best restaurants, Fish at The Rocks has been serving incredibly fresh seafood and fine wine for over twenty-seven years. With a menu that changes with the seasons, at the time of writing, whole baked barramundi, Tasmanian salmon fillet and blue eye cod fillet are just a few of the main dishes which look set to impress.

Day 2

Indulge in a complimentary breakfast before exploring Circular Quay. The Quay is the bustling main transport hub of Sydney Harbour connecting trains, buses, and ferries. The walkway that leads to the iconic Sydney Opera House continues to incredible lush flora in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The gardens are a beautiful sanctuary on the cusp of the busy harbour. After exploring the gardens, visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales which displays fine, modern and contemporary art from Australia and beyond with over thirty changing exhibitions per year.  From here, walk to Friggitoria – the best Italian eatery that you have never heard of, before exploring the western side of the Quay which leads to The Rocks. Bursting with history and with stories on every corner visit the Rocks Discovery Museum which details the history of the Rocks area of Sydney from the Warrane (pre-1788) period through to the present with various exhibits, images, and archaeological artefacts.

Later on, embark on the Sydney Harbour Bridge twilight climb. Best at sunrise or twilight, there is no better way to draw you first full day in Sydney to a close. As you climb the bridge, the sun will slowly descend below the horizon bathing Sydney in an arresting pink glow. After the 3-4-hour climb, you’ll be pleased to know that the Langham is just a ten-minute walk away. Unwind at The Langham, freshen up and scroll through your incredible photos. Later in the evening, take a taxi to the Medusa’s Greek Taverna for traditional sumptuous Greek cuisine for dinner.

Day 3

After breakfast, explore the Blue Mountains on a full-day. As a UNESCO World Heritage-listed region the natural beauty of the Mountains with a blue horizon of eucalyptus trees that appear to infinitely stretch into the distance is unmissable. Explore the walking trails, and marvel at the landmarks of Three Sisters, Jamison Valley, Leura, and Scenic World. Depending on the tour you can also expect to watch a dance performance at the Waradah Aboriginal Centre, and enjoy a wonderful cruise by boat back to Sydney Harbour on the Parramatta River. Following a full day of exploring dine at the hotel’s on site restaurant Bistro Remy before an early night in your luxurious room.

Day 4

Spend today relaxing at The Langham. Conveniently located across the road from the hotel, lies a championship hard-court tennis court which players can book in advance. Alternatively there’s the star-dappled sky ceiling of the Langham’s private swimming pool which is another fun way to spend a few hours, reclining on the poolside lounges with international newspapers provided by the Langham, indulging in light fiction, and of course swimming laps. Later that afternoon, enjoy an indulgent experience in at Palm Court located on the Lobby level. Offering guests an exclusive Afternoon Tea experience with Wedgwood this is a unique experience with a quintessentially British pastime executed immaculately in the heart of Sydney. Enhance your experience with The Langham’s champagne of choice, Laurent-Perrier available by the glass.

In the evening, LuMi Bar & Dining should be your restaurant of choice for modern Italian food, with a Japanese twist and waterfront surrounds. Focused on the seasonality of the produce but more importantly on flavour, the degustation menu will undoubtedly impress and the gastronomic adventure you begin from the “snacks” to “dessert” will be unforgettable. From an unforgettable meal to an unforgettable performance, take a taxi to the Sydney Opera House for a production of EVITA. With critical acclaim, the original Broadway and West End production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical EVITA opened in September 2018, directed by legendary Broadway director Hal Prince, and starring Tina Arena.
