Sample London Holiday Itinerary

Day 1

Indulge in a sumptuous breakfast at The Milestone Hotel as you prepare for your first full day in London. Ideally located between central London’s Knightsbridge and Kensington districts, the boutique 5-star Milestone Hotel Kensington is perfectly situated near some of London’s most incredible attractions. Take a stroll through Kensington Gardens, once the private gardens of Kensington Palace. Walk up the steps to the Albert Memorial and take in the contemporary art and architecture at the Serpentine Galleries. Over in the Diana Playground, kids will enjoy the huge wooden pirate ship, trail, and play sculptures inspired by the adventures of Peter Pan. Exit the park near Hyde Park Corner tube station and within minutes you will find yourself at Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s official London residence and a working royal palace. Make sure you explore the magnificent State Rooms which are open to visitors for 10 weeks each summer and on selected dates during winter and spring.

Return to the your elegantly appointed room at The Milestone Hotel, and freshen up before a delicious afternoon tea in the Conservatory. Afternoon tea is a quintessentially English tradition and is upheld in its finest form at The Milestone which was recently highly commended at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2017. Here, afternoon tea is a treat in more ways than one with a delicious array of delicate finger sandwiches, warm freshly baked scones served with Devonshire clotted cream and home-made preserves, as well as a selection of pastries including éclairs, tartlets, cupcakes and macaroons. Peruse the extensive tea menu, or perhaps enjoy a glass of champagne to celebrate the occasion as you take in the fine surroundings and experience the superior service for which The Milestone is renowned.

Afterwards, take a 15 minute stroll towards the Natural History Museum. Perfect for all the family, uncover the history of life on Earth, from the smallest insects to the largest mammals. Alternatively, you may prefer the Victoria & Albert Museum, on Cromwell Road housing a permanent collection of over 2.3 million objects that span over 5,000 years of human creativity. The Victoria & Albert Museum is undoubtedly the world’s leading museum of art and design, and on Friday’s the museum is open until 22:00.

For dinner, we recommend Nobu London for Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine, popular with A-list celebrities. However for an experience amongst the stars, why not visit The Shard? Situated on level 33 of The Shard, Hutong takes its inspiration from the dishes served in the imperial palaces of what was then Peking. It is based on the much-loved restaurant of the same name in Hong Kong. Whilst Aqua Shard located on level 31 of The Shard, serves innovative contemporary British cuisine and boasts breathtaking views from its restaurant, private dining rooms and a spectacular three-storey high atrium bar.

Day 2 

Enjoy a second gourmet breakfast at The Milestone Hotel before exploring more of London’s incredible sites. Walk to High Street Kensington tube station and take the Circle line to Westminster tube station. Here you will find a myriad of attractions to suit travellers of all ages an interests. For those interested in politics and history, the Westminster Abbey, a royal church and world heritage site may be of interest. Along with Big Ben, and the Palace of Westminster. For those with young children, SEA LIFE London Aquarium and the Coca-Cola London Eye would undoubtedly be popular. However you spend the next few hours be sure to take lots of photos.  For a quick healthy lunch on the go stop by Pret a Manger, a firm favourite amongst Londoners, so much so there is almost one on every corner! Pret creates handmade freshly prepared food and organic coffee, with lots of Vegan and Vegetarian options available.

Take the District line from Westminster tube station to St Paul’s tube station. St Paul’s Cathedral, with its world-famous dome, is an iconic feature of the London skyline. Step inside and you can enjoy the Cathedral’s awe-inspiring interior, and uncover fascinating stories about its history. Then after exploring the cathedral and the surrounding area take the Central line back in the opposite direction to Queensway tube station, approximately ten minutes away on foot from The Milestone Hotel. After two busy days of sightseeing you have definitely earned a well deserved spa visit at the hotel, before tonight’s entertainment.

Start your evening at the Stables Bar within The Milestone Hotel. Indulge in exceptional cocktails, wines, and small plates, before either watching a performance at the Royal Albert Hall located nearby, or a theatre show in London’s iconic West End. No trip to London is complete without seeing a live performance. And London has some of the best plays, musicals, and musicians in the world. Afterwards, return to your beautiful room, suite or residence and order room service, as your second full day draws to a close.
