Gleneagles is one of the world’s most famous hotels. It is incredibly accessible from within the UK, and internationally. You can fly to Edinburgh, or Glasgow then drive for an hour to Gleneagles. This is one of the most common ways to arrive. However, there are alternative options available. You can travel by train directly from London Kings Cross to Gleneagles Station in just over 5 and a half hours followed by a short car transfer. With wireless internet and a complimentary chauffeur transfer between the station and Gleneagles, this is a luxurious and environmentally friendly way to travel. Or we can arrange your travel with the Gleneagles in-house chauffeurs who are on hand day and night to drive guests to and from the Hotel and to other destinations during your stay.
Upon arrival at Gleneagles check in to your room or suite. From the entry-level Country Double Room to the Royal Lochnagar Suite, every single room or suite celebrates Scottish luxury. Every room and suite is complete with beautiful furnishings, sumptuous fabrics and elegant bathrooms. Asprey hair & skincare, a pillow menu, and tea and coffee making facilities can be found throughout.
There are four options to choose from at Gleneagles for dinner. The Strathern specialises in classical fine dining with silver service. Andrew Fairlie is the Michelin starred restaurant. The Century Bar specialises in local food and drink. Whilst The Birnam serves the finest Mediterranean inspired brasserie and bistro dishes. After a few hours of travel, we highly recommend the Birnam. The laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, and Winter Garden with open fire make it a cosy setting for an evening meal. This restaurant brings an essence of the Mediterranean to Scotland which makes this restaurant incredibly charming. Slurp on Loch Fyne oysters with shallot vinegar. Dive into Risotto Milanese with saffron and crispy pork. And sip on riviera classics such as Sorrento negroni and Venetian spritz. But this restaurant isn’t just for adults! The children’s menu is mouthwatering too. Favourites like the melon with prosciutto ham, and tagliatelle carbonara, mean your little munchkin can enjoy the Mediterranean fare too.
At Rich Vein Travel we put the swing back into golf holidays. So now is the time to start perfecting yours on The PGA Centenary Course. Putting on the two-tier second green, you are distracted by the lush panorama of the rich Perthshire straths. As you move westwards over the next few holes, the rugged Grampians come into view on the right, then distantly purple ahead, Ben Vorlich and the mountains above the Trossachs. To ensure that you have a completely and utterly stress-free experience, Gleneagles has partnered with the premier provider of caddie management services – Caddiemaster. The world-class Caddiemaster caddies can greatly enhance your experience whatever your standard of golf. Not only can they carry your bag, tend the flagstick, and read putts, they can also provide guidance around the course.
After working up an appetite, we would recommend the afternoon tea. It’s the perfect way for couples, and families to indulge in some quality time together. The afternoon tea experience at Gleneagles is second to none. Enjoy a mouth-watering selection of French pastries, beautiful cakes, buttery scones and finely-cut finger sandwiches in the Glendevon room. Later in the afternoon, pursue some of your other passions. Gleneagles truly is an adventure playground. There’s Canadian canoeing, lawn croquet, a zip wire experience, air rifle shooting, clay target shooting, deer stalking, cycling, off-road driving, fishing and more. So there is more than enough to do to keep your partner, family, or friends entertained for hours on end.
