With high-end boutiques, world-class dining and a dizzying array of luxury hotels, in Dubai
you will find everything you could ever need in one place. However, Dubai is also becoming a firm favourite amongst travellers with slightly smaller suitcases and entirely different interests. With a plethora of exciting theme parks, an indoor ski resort, water parks, desert sand dunes, and glorious beaches, Dubai can appeal to children of all ages and adults alike.
Jumeirah Beach – one of the most popular stretches of beach, is where the Four Seasons Hotel is conveniently situated. The hotel curves around two palm-fringed pools; one for children and the other for adults. Pool attendants hand out refreshers– from cool towels to fresh juices – but if you would like to be left in peace, a do-not-disturb button beside each of the 400 sun-loungers can be pressed.
For water orientated fun beyond the resort spend a day at the Aquaventure park or Wild Wadi. With 17 hectares of fun with slides, marine life, and aquariums children can occupy themselves for hours in a safe environment. Slightly older children will be particularly impressed by Wild Wadi. At Wild Wadi’s Tantrum Alley they will face three tornados and meet the eye of a storm, while at Jumeirah Sceirah (redesigned in 2012) they will shoot down one of two 120-metre tandem slides at an astonishing speed of 80km/h. Babies and toddlers will love the colourful slides, water guns, and climbing frames.
However, there are plenty of ways to entertain young children aside from Dubai’s waterparks. Build your way through non-stop interactive fun at LEGOLAND Dubai. With over 40 LEGO-themed rides, shows, building experiences and attractions, it’s the perfect day out for families with children aged 2-12. Older children may instead prefer best-in-branded entertainment from three of the largest and most successful motion picture studios in Hollywood – DreamWorks, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate. But the coolest attraction by far (excuse the pun), may possibly be Dubai’s unique indoor ski resort. Ski Dubai is an indoor ski resort. Located in heart of Dubai, children can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, meet Ski Dubai’s newest residents; the Snow Penguins.
Whilst many of Dubai’s hotels are extraordinarily child-friendly, it’s the attention to detail of the Four Seasons hotel which makes it our top resort for 2018. Such attention to detail is showcased through the special children’s bathrobes, tear-free children’s toiletries and a vast array of video games. The Kids for All Seasons club has a ball pit, outdoor park and cookery classes, perfect for entertaining children between the ages of 3-12. On Thursdays and Fridays, the Kids for All Seasons club is open until 11:00 pm, convenient for parents who would like to relax at one of the Four Seasons’s many stylish bars and lounges.
