Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas: The Best Family Resort in Abu Dhabi

Sun, sea, and family are the essential requirements for a fun holiday in Abu Dhabi. But when travelling as a family there are lots of extra things to consider. From activities for children to family-friendly restaurants, everything requires a lot more planning and consideration. The Saadiyat Rotana Resort not only has fantastic activities for children and great family restaurants, but the resort is also ideally situated on a private beach. To find out why this 5* resort is perfect for a luxury family holiday to Abu Dhabi, read this blog post!

Lots of Activities For Children

The Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas not only cater to children but it puts them at the centre. The resort is nestled on a 9km stretch of white sand, overlooking the Arabian Gulf. This private beach is the perfect place for children to build sandcastles and play in the sea. At the beach, you’ll find no shortage of sun loungers and umbrellas meaning that children will never be too far away from shaded areas either.

There’s also a huge outdoor pool in the centre of the resort, surrounded by deck chairs, and cabanas. The pool is suitable for both children and adults, so you can swim a few laps, or splash in the pool with the kids. Located beside the pool is a swim-up Pool bar, for some adults-only alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, light meals, and snacks.

Slightly older children will enjoy the tennis courts and mini-golf course as they battle to come out on top. However, the star of the show, for children will undoubtedly be Aladdin’s Cave. Aladdin’s Cave is the kids club at Saadiyat Rotana Resort and Villas. It’s open from morning until night and is free of charge for hotel guests. Children will thoroughly enjoy the lazy river, splash pool, cinema zone, water slide and gaming consoles!

Perfect Location in Abu Dhabi

The Saadiyat Rotana Resort is located on Saadiyat Island. Saadiyat Island is one of the chain islands running between downtown Abu Dhabi and the mainland. This natural island is quickly becoming a cultural destination with a roster of art galleries and museums. In 2017 Saadiyat Island officially became home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because there’s another famous art museum in the world with the same name in Paris! Louvre Abu Dhabi’s motto is ‘see Humanity in a new light’ and it intends to reach this lofty goal by presenting its visitors with a truly universal perspective on art and culture. For the young children who may get bored visiting museums, the Louvre Abu Dhabi has constructed a museum specifically for them. Children of 6–12 years will be able to engage with exhibitions and activities tailored to their age groups.

The resort is also just 25 minutes away by car from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. As Abu Dhabi’s most famous tourist attraction, a visit to the Grand Mosque, even if it’s just for half an hour, is definitely worth the visit. Yas Island, which is incredibly popular amongst families for having three popular theme parks side by side (Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World, and Ferrari World), is nearby too. All of this shows that this resort is the perfect base for families in Abu Dhabi keen to combine relaxation with a few activities.

Family-friendly Restaurants

All of the restaurants at the Saadiyat Rotana Resort are family-friendly. Parents and children will be made to feel welcome in each restaurant. The friendly knowledgeable staff will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. They will be able to answer any questions you may have. From Italian restaurant Si to English American gastropub Hamilton’s, to Sim Sim, with International cuisine, at this resort, there will be no shortage of options. And for when mealtimes don’t quite go to plan the 24-hour in-room dining option at the resort means that room service will only be a phone call away.

Adults Can Have Fun Too

Travelling with children is a joy, but at times you may just want some rest and relaxation. So whilst the children spend a few hours at the Aladdin’s Cave kid’s club, why not head to the spa? Zen the Spa is an oasis of relaxation. Indulge in a selection of exquisite therapies, ranging from full-body massages, deeply nourishing facials, to traditional Turkish and Moroccan Hammams – treatments rich in culture and cherished across centuries.
